Shape: The Symmetrical balance of the artifact. 3. Size: Most arrowheads are 0.9 - 1.3 inches in length; whereas the average size tool will fit comfortably inside the palm of your hand, artifacts that are larger are more desirable because they are far less common. 4. Material: The type of mineral or stone that the artifact is made from. Chert, Flint Jasper and Agate are the most common, Chalcedony, Gemstone, Citrine, Rock Crystal, and Carnelian are far less common. 5. Damage: Degree to which geological forces have altered the original appearance of the artifact also includes ancient and any modern damage. 6. Desirability: A subjective criteria that gauges the overall amount of desire, or demand for a specimen.
